London Sport Awards winners at Twickenham Stadium

A South London based women football team and a charity received an award along with other six sports grassroots organisations for their community impact in the city.

Women football team South London Laces and Disability Sports Coach charity were celebrated for their influence in the community through physical activity at the third year running London Sports Awards in Twickenham Stadium, the evening of 14 March 2019.

Beth Towle, co-Founder of Clapham based football Club, spoke powerfully on women and girls’ football. She encouraged Londoners to not “be a bystander; if you see something get involved. Even the smallest thing will make a difference.”

Borough-based Disability Sports Coach in association with Lumina Energy picked up their first London Sports Award, after being unsuccessful nominees for the previous three years, in the Workforce Award.

These were two of the award winners among other six organisations at the annual sports event.
